A labrador retriever should be balanced in movement moving steadily and gracefully with minimal effort. The ones over the nose do give the dog a harsher expression imo. The other avid golden retriever fans there told us something we never heard before that roxy had a zipper nose when roxy was just a pup her zipper nose was more of a mohawk and it evolved to being a line down her nose.
But since i find those to be significant faults despite being very common that prevent the dog from functioning properly as a working dog i chose to keep the beautiful puppy with the zipper who also happens to be a super working dog.

I could have kept the puppy without the zipper that had upright shoulders very little second thigh and a short upper arm who is now a finished champion. Naturally active and alert the labrador retriever belongs to the akc sporting group.
